Born and raised in Ottawa, Canada - I have more than 30 years working, teaching and training clients of all ages in the city, as well as enjoying my own active fitness lifestyle that includes running, hiking and golf.
After several years of teaching Spinning, group fitness and personal training to clients of all ages, I discovered the benefits of pilates and studied at various local Pilates studios, eventually completing the Ron Fletcher Program of Study®, Levels 1 and 2, at Bodyworks Studio in Tucson, Arizona under the direction of Master Teacher Ron Fletcher and Kyria Sabin in 2007 and 2008.
Between September 2009 and January 2011, the desire to continue my education, to advance and evolve in the area of body movement as it relates to injury, rehabilitation and core strengthening techniques to enhance performance led me to New York City and the very popular movement technique known as Gyrokinesis.
I followed the curriculum as set out and completed the rigorous Gyrokinesis teacher training program in New York City and Miami, Florida, with final certification awarded in January 2011. I furthered my training by pursuing the "equipment" work and completing Level One Gyrotonic training in New York City, Montreal and Miami. My home based studio is now equipped with two towers, including one of the original towers made by Juliu Horvath. I have also completed Gyrotonic for Golf, as well as several of the Level Two specialized courses offered.
My fitness history includes certifications in Fletcher Pilates, Gyrokinesis, Gyrotonic, Gyrotonic for Golf, Personal Training Levels 1 and 2 from the Ottawa Sports Science Center, Group fitness, CAIA, pre- and post-natal fitness, and Madd Dog Spinning.
My extensive years of teaching have equipped me to motivate individuals of all ages and allow me to provide the one-on-one training required to safely achieve personal fitness success. My personal training background enables me to analyze each movement and fine tune each individual's needs. This results in safe and effective programs for participants - from beginners to advanced clients and athletes.
